Dara M. Wilson
"In my work, I consider the pricelessness of agency in a world overridden with despair. I contemplate our relationship to work, and how we might redefine it. I assert the possibility of clarity, freedom, humor and joy. And as a disabled queer Black woman, I assert the audacity to claim these for myself."
Raised in Philadelphia and based in LA, She capped her formal studies with undergraduate degrees in psychology and studio art from Harvard University, where she worked in photography and videography. She put art on the back burner in favor of the supposed safety of the corporate ladder, but returned to the discipline after a weaving workshop offered through one of those jobs. What followed was a journey of creation and exploration that helped her heal from the ruinous nature of that world. Now she uses a unique blend of transformational coaching and design concepting to create beautiful pieces that memorialize her clients’ healing breakthroughs. more on Dara's work: makedamadeart.com |
